# Set up Sable as a solo stylist

> Business details, your service menu, and your booking page, in one sitting.

This is the setup path for one stylist with one schedule: booth renters,
suite renters, independents, and mobile stylists. Plan on one focused sitting
to get through it.

## Before you start

Have these on hand:

* The name, address, and phone number you use for your business
* Your service list with prices and how long each service takes
* A logo if you have one (you can add it later if not)

<Steps>
  <Step title="Confirm your business details">
    Go to **Settings** and open **Business**. This is your business identity:
    it appears on invoices, your booking page, and the emails Sable sends for
    you.

    Check the business name, email, phone, and address. Sable sets your
    timezone from your address, and reminders and appointment times follow
    it, so fix it here if it looks wrong.

    While you're in Settings, the **Workspace theme** section controls how
    Sable looks for you. **Cozy** is warm and magazine-inspired, **Smart** is
    crisp and familiar. Pick whichever feels like your salon.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build your service menu">
    Open **Services** in the sidebar. Each service has a name, a category, a
    duration, and a price. Use **New Service** to add your menu one service
    at a time.

    Two settings matter more than they look:

    * **Type**: a *Primary* service is something a client books on its own,
      like a haircut or color. An *Add-on* rides along with a primary
      service, like a deep conditioning treatment.
    * **Visibility**: *Public* services appear on your online booking page.
      Keep a service private if you only book it in person.

    Don't agonize over getting the menu perfect. You can edit any service
    later, and prices are per service, so adjusting one never touches the
    rest.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make your booking page yours">
    Go to **Settings** and open **Booking Page**. This is the page clients
    see when they book with you, and everything you change previews live on
    the right before you save.

    * **Identity**: your logo, salon name, and a short description.
    * **Brand**: accent color, page background, and a heading font. The font
      choices (Cozy, Smart, Editorial, Glam) set the personality of the
      whole page.
    * **Payments**: decide whether booking requires a card, a deposit, or
      carries a no-show fee. See
      [Deposits, policies, and waitlist](/guides/calendar/deposits-policies-and-waitlist)
      for how these choices play out.
    * **Details**: show your location and link your Instagram.

    Use the **Mobile** and **Desktop** preview toggles. Most clients will
    see the mobile version. When it looks right, hit **Save changes**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect payments and go live">
    Two short guides finish the job:

    * [Connect payments](/getting-started/connect-payments) so you can take
      cards and receive payouts.
    * [Publish your online booking page](/getting-started/publish-online-booking)
      and start sharing your link.

    Moving from another system? Do
    [Import your clients](/getting-started/import-clients) first so your
    regulars are already waiting when the calendar opens.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## You're done when

* Your business name, address, and timezone are correct in **Settings**
* Your services are in, with the bookable ones set to **Public**
* Your booking page looks right in the mobile preview
* A test booking from your own phone goes through end to end
