# Welcome to Sable

> What Sable does, how the app is organized, and the fastest path to your first booked appointment.

Sable runs the business side of your chair: booking, clients, payments,
messaging, and the paperwork that usually eats your evenings. This page gives
you the lay of the land so nothing else in these guides feels unfamiliar.

## Pick your setup path

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="I work for myself" href="/getting-started/solo-stylist-setup">
    Booth renters, suite renters, and independent stylists. One person, one
    schedule. You can finish setup in a sitting.
  </Card>

  <Card title="I run a salon with a team" href="/getting-started/salon-team-setup">
    Owners and managers with stylists or front desk staff. Everything from the
    solo path, plus roles, commissions, and team schedules.

## How the app is organized

The left sidebar is home base. Here's what lives where:

| Section | What you do there |
| ---------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Dashboard** | Your day at a glance: appointments this week, revenue, what's up next. |
| **Appointments** | The calendar. Book, move, and check out appointments. |
| **Invoices**           | Send a bill, take payment, see what's outstanding.                                 |
| **Services** | Your service menu: names, prices, durations, and what clients can book online. |
| **Inventory** | Retail and back-bar products, scanning, and stock counts. |
| **Clients** | Every client's profile, plus your waitlist and intake forms. |
| **Inbox**              | Two-way text conversations with clients.                                           |
| **Marketing** | Email and SMS campaigns. |
| **Reports** | Sales, appointment, and inventory reporting. |
| **Team** | Staff, permissions, commissions, time tracking, booth rent, and payroll readiness. |
| **Payments & Banking** | Money in and money out: transactions, balance, payouts, and disputes. |
| **Settings** | Business details, branding, your booking page, notifications, and point of sale. |

Two more things sit at the top of every screen: the **Create** button for a
new appointment, client, service, form, campaign, or report, and **Jules**,
Sable's built-in assistant. Ask Jules things the way you'd ask a sharp
front-desk coworker.

   hours, and your service menu.

   nobody gets left behind in your old system.
3. [Connect payments](/getting-started/connect-payments) so you can take cards
   and get paid out.
4. [Publish your booking page](/getting-started/publish-online-booking) and
