# Rooms on the calendar

> Add the rooms your salon books, see each one as a column beside your stylists, and book, move, or block time in a room.

A room is a space your salon books on its own: a private studio, a color
bar, a treatment room. Each room gets its own column on the calendar, after
your stylists, so you can see at a glance who is using it and when.

## Set up your rooms

Owners and managers set up rooms in **settings** → **scheduling** →
**calendar** → **rooms**.

* **add room** to name a new one.
* Drag a room by its handle to change the order. The calendar shows room
  columns in the same order.
* Open **…** next to a room to **rename** or **archive** it.
* **booth renters can book** decides whether booth renters may book their
clients into that room. Turn it off to keep a room for the salon's own team.

An archived room leaves the calendar and can't be booked, and past visits in
it keep their room. A room with upcoming appointments stays open until those
visits move to another room or out of it; Sable tells you how many are left.
Archived rooms are listed under **archived rooms**, where **restore** brings
one back.

## Rooms on the calendar

Room columns sit after the stylists in Day view, and after the stylists inside
each day in Week view. Each room's header shows a door in place of a photo.

* A visit in a room shows in its stylist's column with a small door mark, and
in the room's column with the client's name, then the stylist and service.
* Time in a room that you don't have access to open shows as a grey
**booked** block with only its times.
* Room blocks show hatched, with their label.

The team menu on the calendar has a **rooms** section. Untick a room to hide
its column; your choice is saved with the rest of your team selection. On a
phone, pick a room in the team picker to see that room's day.

## Book into a room

* Click or drag in a room's column to start an appointment with that room
already chosen. If you take bookings yourself, you are the stylist; you can
pick someone else. Otherwise, choose a stylist before you book.
* In the booking panel, **Room** picks a room for any appointment. **No room**
  is the default.
* A service can always use the same room: open the service and choose its
**room**. Adding that service to an appointment fills the room in.
* Online booking offers a service that uses a room only at times the room is
  free.

If the room is already booked at that time, Sable asks before you double-book
it, and names who has it when you can see that visit.

## Move a visit into or out of a room

* Drag a visit from a stylist's column into a room's column to put it in that
room. The stylist stays the same.
* Drag a visit within a room's column to change its time, or to another room's
  column to change the room.
* To take a visit out of its room, open it, choose **edit**, and set **room**
  to **no room**.

## Block time in a room

Owners and managers can block a room the same way they block a stylist: **Add**
→ **Block time**, then choose the room under **who**, or click or drag in the
room's column. A room block can be part of a day, all day, or repeat, and
changing or removing a repeating one asks whether you mean **this block**,
**this and following blocks**, or **all blocks**.

## Booth renters and rooms

A booth renter sees every room's column, and books into any room that has
**booth renters can book** turned on. A room with it off still shows her its
busy time, so she can see when it's taken, and stays out of her room choices.
