# Profiles, formulas, allergies, and photos

> The client profile is your memory: history, color formulas, allergies, notes, and before-and-afters in one place.

A great salon visit feels personal because somebody remembered. The client
profile is where Sable does the remembering: what you did, what you mixed,
what they're allergic to, and how it looked when you finished.

## The profile at a glance

Open any client from **Clients**. The top of the profile is the essentials:
photo, contact info, an **Edit** button, and two actions you'll use
constantly: **Book appointment** and **Message**. Next to that, three
numbers that tell you who you're talking to: **Visits**, **Lifetime** spend,
and **Avg ticket**.

Use **Edit** to update contact details, set a birthday, or add a profile
photo (you can crop it right in the app; no more sideways headshots).

Below, five tabs carry the real history.

## Appointments

The full visit history: date, service, stylist, and price, with anything
upcoming at the top. This is the fastest way to answer "when was she last
in?" and "who did her color in March?"

## Formulas

The **Formulas** tab is a real formula book, not a notes field. Each
formula has a name, its ingredients measured in grams (picked from your
product catalog, with ratios when you mix by ratio), and room for
application notes: timing, developer volume, the things you'll want at 8
AM in six weeks. Duplicate a formula to tweak it for the next visit
without losing what worked last time.

Formulas also connect to appointments, so "what did we do in March" and
"what exactly was in it" are the same lookup.

## Notes and allergies

The **Notes** tab holds two kinds of memory:

* **Notes**: free-form. How they take their coffee, the divorce you should
not ask about, the fringe experiment of 2025.
* **Allergies**: structured chips, added inline, each with an optional
severity (mild, moderate, or severe). Allergies live here and not in a
buried note because the stylist covering your Saturday needs to see
  "PPD, severe" without archaeology.

## Photos

Before-and-afters, organized as **Before**, **After**, and **Other**.
Upload from the profile, flip through them full-screen, and never again
lose your best color work to your phone's camera roll.

<Note>
Client photos are part of the client's record. Get their OK before any
photo leaves Sable for your Instagram; the profile is memory, not a media
  library.
</Note>

## Forms

Completed intake forms live on the profile's **Forms** tab, so waivers and
consultation answers stay attached to the person they belong to. Building
and sending those forms is its own guide:
[Intake forms](/guides/clients/intake-forms).
