# Share clients between stylists

> Share one client, share your whole book, ask another stylist to share, or give the salon one client list.

Each stylist's client list is their own. Clients still move between stylists:
someone covers a maternity leave, a client sees two people, a stylist takes
over a book. Sharing lets the next stylist pick up with the notes, formulas,
and history instead of starting a new client card.

Sharing is something a stylist chooses. Nothing is shared until the stylist
the client is attributed to says so.

## What a shared client shows

The stylist you share with sees the client's profile and notes, formulas,
photos, forms, and visits with the services and products used. They never see
the prices or tips of your visits or your payment history. The client's card on
file shows the same way it does for anyone in the salon.
Either of you can book the client.

On their client list, a shared client carries **from** and your name. On
yours, it carries **shared with** and theirs.

## Share one client

1. Open the client's profile.
2. Choose **share client** next to **Attributed to**.
3. Pick a stylist and choose **share with** and their name.

Owners and managers already see every client, so they appear greyed out in the
list. On iPhone and iPad, open the profile's **Profile** tab and choose **Share
with a stylist** under **sharing**.

To see who can see a client, or to stop, choose **share client** again (or a
name under **Shared with**) and choose **stop sharing**. The client leaves that
stylist's list, and any appointment they already booked with the client stays
booked.

## Share all your clients

From **Clients**, open **sharing** and choose **share all my clients**. Pick a
stylist. Leave **include clients I add later** on to keep sharing new clients
as you add them. **shared by me** and **shared with me** in the same menu
filter your list.

## Ask to share

Search by name, phone number, or email for a client who belongs to another
stylist, on **Clients**, in search on iPhone and iPad, or while booking. Sable
shows the first name and last initial with the phone and email, so two clients
with the same name can be told apart, marked **another stylist's client**, and
nothing else. Choose **ask to
share**, add a note if you like, and **send request**. The request shows as
**requested** until it is answered; **cancel request** withdraws it.

To ask for a stylist's whole book, open **sharing** on **Clients** and choose
**ask for a stylist's clients**.

## Answer a request

The stylist the client is attributed to gets the request on their phone and in
**alerts** on the web, with the note and what will be shared. Choose
**approve** or **decline**. For a whole book, iPhone and iPad offer **Include
clients I add later** before **Share all**. Owners and managers do not answer
on a stylist's behalf.

## One client list for the whole salon

Some salons prefer one shared list. An owner can turn on **all stylists share
one client list** in **Settings**, **Clients**. Sable asks for confirmation
first: every stylist, booth renters included, then sees every client,
including the prices and tips of past visits. While it is on, the per-client sharing controls are
not needed and are not shown.

Turn it off at any time. Each client goes back to the stylist they are
attributed to, plus any shares that are still in place. While it is off, the
same page lists who shares clients with whom.

## Texting and privacy

Text permission belongs to the phone number, so sharing never changes whether
a client agreed to texts or replied STOP. Conversations stay with the stylist
who has them. Every share, request, answer, and change to the salon setting is
recorded.

When a stylist leaves the salon, their shares end.
