The overview
The Overview report is the health check, in four bands:- Financial: income, tracked expenses, and net income; revenue with processing fees, product costs, refunds, and membership revenue broken out. This is “how’s the business” in one screen.
- Performance: revenue by stylist, rebooking rate, peak booking times, payment method mix, and booking sources. Your product ratio (retail sales against service revenue) shows against a salon benchmark so you know whether the shelf is pulling its weight.
- Clients: active clients, new clients, and average lifetime value.
- Bookings: completed, cancelled, and no-shows.
The focused reports
- Sales goes deep on revenue: what sold, in what mix, over time.
- Appointments covers volume and patterns: how full you actually are, and when.
- Inventory covers product spend and usage, next to your stock reality from Inventory.
Five numbers worth a weekly glance
- Net income. Revenue is a mood; net is the truth.
- Rebooking rate. The cheapest revenue you’ll ever get is the client who books the next visit before leaving.
- No-shows. If it climbs, your reminder and deposit settings are the levers.
- New clients. Growth without retention is a treadmill; watch it next to rebooking, not instead of it.
- Product ratio. Below benchmark usually means retail isn’t being offered, not that clients stopped buying shampoo.
Reading reports without fooling yourself
- Compare like periods: a color-heavy December against last December, not against August.
- One slow week is noise; three is a trend; pick your reaction accordingly.
- The numbers are as honest as the inputs. Cash rung up, no-shows marked as no-shows, and products tracked: that’s what makes these reports worth reading.
